‘I TOOK MY OPPORTUNITY’: EXPLOSIVE, EMOTIONAL DEBATE BETWEEN FOX BUSINESS’ CHARLES PAYNE AND UNION LEADER ABOUT COLLECTIVE VS. INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENT (WITH BLAZE EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE OF THE PRE-ARGUMENT THAT DIDN’T AIR)

PROFESSOR’S RANT TO STUDENTS: COPS ARE ‘PIGGISH,‘ CONSERVATIVES ARE ’SCHMUCKS,‘ AMERICA IS ’PERVERSE PLACE,‘ NEED TO REVISIT ’USEFUL’ MARXIST CONCEPTS

The talk was a panel discussion entitled ‘The Transformation of Poverty Governance’ and revolved around how America is handling it’s welfare state.

According to The University of Pennsylvania Professor Philippe Bourgois:

  • Conservatives “brutalize the poor” and are “mean-spirited schmucks”
  • Police are “rough, mean, vicious, nasty and piggish”
  • Police will make up charges to incarcerate you
  • Karl Marx is “useful” and we need to revisit his concepts
  • The prison system in America is “an unjustifiable outrage”
  • America is a “perverse place, not the Land of the Free”
  • Doctors “make tons of money” off the poor

NYC MAYOR BLOOMBERG’S ACTUAL DEFENSE OF LARGE DRINK BAN: ‘WE’RE SIMPLY FORCING YOU TO UNDERSTAND’

“The idea here is, you tend to eat all the food in the container in front of you,” Bloomberg said on MSNBC Thursday afternoon. “If it’s a bigger container, you eat more. If somebody put it in a smaller glass or plate or bowl in front of you, you would eat less.”

And then there’s this: “We’re not taking away anybody’s right to do things, we’re simply forcing you to understand that you have to make the conscious decision to go from one cup to another cup.”

“It’s not perfect, it’s not the only answer, it’s not the only cause of people being overweight – but we’ve got to do something,” he added. “We have an obligation to warn you when things are not good for your health.”

And: “I would just like to … force the consumer to hopefully move over to the less fattening drinks and everybody will be better off.”

‘Real News From The Blaze:’ Is Grade Inflation Producing a Generation of Overrated and Entitled Graduates?

The White House has announced it has granted more exemptions to No Child Left Behind, giving schools more flexibility to design curriculums that work best for their students, as long as they agree to meet certain educational benchmarks in exchange for the exemptions.
As more and more colleges and universities use ‘flexibility’ in their grading systems, there has been an increase in grade inflation, which some say leads to under-equipped, overrated, and overconfident graduates entering the work force.
Former college professor and Department of Education official Lori Roman joined “Real News” Wednesday to break down the negative effects grade inflation has on the development of students and the overall economy.

The competitiveness of academia secures high tuition-paying admitted students and the demands of increasing generations of entitled kids spiking grades.

With more students receiving "A"s than ever, are our kids getting smarter, or, is this grade inflation?

“It’s not an issue,” Sununu argued. “There is nobody in the Romney campaign that believes that the president was not born in the United States.”

‘THEN AND NOW’ ANTI-OBAMA VIDEO

PROTESTORS AND SUPPORTERS OF REP. ALLEN WEST CLASH AT TOWN HALL

PROTESTORS AND SUPPORTERS OF REP. ALLEN WEST CLASH AT TOWN HALL

A half dozen officers from the Boca Raton police department were on hand to run interference between West supporters and those who West said were hired by “the San Francisco billionaire” from the Credo SuperPAC but the real scuffles (and yes, I mean plural ) began, as they often do, during the audience question period where a woman interrupted the Congressman to argue her point on gay marriage. When approached by West’s security, the anti- West crowd began to loudly complain about the security team’s tactics, calling them storm troopers and accusing them of “Gestapo-like” behavior.

Ironically enough, West was so unafraid to engage in dialogue with the protesters that he engaged one or two of them in long one-on-one conversations, and good naturedly swatted down the ones that only came to scream at him. Examples of both exchanges were captured in this video, where West responded to a questioner who accused him of having no solutions with the line, “Put me in charge of this country and I’ll show you solutions.”

Not one to back down from a fight, West said, as he was surrounded, “I’m gonna stand right here.”
The words became physical when a West supporter with a cane responded to a woman who used profanity toward a man by shoving her and threatening to hit her with the cane. Police were around, but did not act forcefully with any of the people attending. One man, an anti-West protester, gently bumped the BPR camera person twice, purposely trying to intimidate.

Nobel Peace Prize Winner Turns Killer

Secret ‘Kill List’ Proves a Test of Obama’s Principles and Will

The Times interviewed 36 current and former advisers for its piece, and they painted a picture of someone who has changed:
They describe a paradoxical leader who shunned the legislative deal-making required to close the detention facility at Guantánamo Bay in Cuba, but approves lethal action without hand-wringing. While he was adamant about narrowing the fight and improving relations with the Muslim world, he has followed the metastasizing enemy into new and dangerous lands. When he applies his lawyering skills to counterterrorism, it is usually to enable, not constrain, his ferocious campaign against Al Qaeda — even when it comes to killing an American cleric in Yemen, a decision that Mr. Obama told colleagues was “an easy one.”

Abortion, Pro-Life, The War on Baby Girls: Part 1 - Undercover in Texas

Sign the petition NOW to stop the killing of girls, just because they are girls! www.ProtectOurGirls.com

Over 100 millions girls are missing today. These girls were victims of gendercide. The war on baby girls begins in the womb.

AUSTIN, May 29 -- Today, Live Action released a new undercover video showing a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Austin, TX encouraging a woman to obtain a late-term abortion because she was purportedly carrying a girl and wanted to have a boy. The video is first in a new series titled "Gendercide: Sex-Selection in America," exposing the practice of sex-selective abortion in the United States and how Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry facilitate the selective elimination of baby girls in the womb.

"I see that you're saying that you want to terminate if it's a girl, so are you just wanting to continue the pregnancy in the meantime?" a counselor named "Rebecca" offers the woman, who is purportedly still in her first trimester and cannot be certain about the gender. "The abortion covers you up until 23 weeks," explains Rebecca, "and usually at 5 months is usually (sic) when they detect, you know, whether or not it's a boy or a girl." Doctors agree that the later in term a doctor performs an abortion, the greater the risk of complications.

The Planned Parenthood staffer suggests that the woman get on Medicaid in order to pay for an ultrasound to determine the gender of her baby, even though she plans to use the knowledge for an elective abortion. She also tells the woman to "just continue and try again" for the desired gender after aborting a girl, and adds, "Good luck, and I hope that you do get your boy."

"The search-and-destroy targeting of baby girls through prenatal testing and abortion is a pandemic that is spreading across the globe," notes Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action. "Research proves that sex-selective abortion has now come to America. The abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, is a willing participant."

Six studies in the past four years indicate that there are thousands of "missing girls" in the U.S., many from sex-selective abortion. The U.K., India, Australia, and other countries ban sex-selective abortion, but the U.S., save for three states, does not. On Wednesday, Congress will debate the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act (PRENDA), which would ban sex-selective abortions nationally.

"Planned Parenthood and their ruthless abortion-first mentality is the real 'war on women'," says Rose. "Sex-selective abortion is gender discrimination with lethal consequences for little girls."

The complete, unedited video and transcript can be viewed at www.ProtectOurGirls.com, a hub of research and information on sex-selective abortions.

Live Action is a youth led movement dedicated to building a culture of life and ending the human rights abuse of abortion. They use new media to educate the public about the humanity of the unborn and investigative journalism to expose threats against the vulnerable and defenseless.

CROWD REBUKES PIVEN FOR SAYING TEA PARTY DOESN‘T ’LIKE THE IDEA OF A BLACK PRESIDENT’

We’ve already covered the fact that Frances Fox Piven spoke at Messiah College — a Christian, higher education facility. Now, what we haven’t delved into is exactly what the radical academic had to say.

Sure, we told you that Piven admitted that the “tea party is an authentic movement,” a curious comment to say the least. But many of the news reports that recapped the event left out her more devilish commentary (which, as is usually the case, was in the details).

In addressing the successful right-leaning conservative movement, Piven seemed to allude a to her belief that the Tea Party is motivated by racism. Below, see her begin to dive into this mantra (which has become commonplace for many people on the left). In fact, she even says that the Tea Party doesn’t “like the idea of a black president.”

You’ll hear a man in the audience respond to her charges, saying, “as long as he follows the constitution we don’t care what color he is” (referring to President Barack Obama). Hear her comment and the man’s response.

And when it comes to GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, Piven seems to think that the successful businessman may merely be a tool to help shield the racism that she thinks is espoused by many of those who oppose Obama.

MRC.tv’s Stephen Gutowski describes the odd compliment that Piven gave to the Tea Party later on in the speech (i.e. “authentic movement”).

When pressed by a student, as you can see at the end of that video, Piven back tracks and says that she doesn’t believe the entire Tea Party is racist or that race is their only motivation. That reversal in tone from earlier in her speech took an even sharper turn at the end of the night. So much so that she ended her remarks with a compliment for the Tea Party.

Noon.October 11, 2011. 59th St and 5th Ave, A Marxist Lead March up 5th Avenues to the homes of the wealthy. The belligerents held banners and signs that represented ACORN, The Workers Party, Teamsters Unions, CUNY and the Socialist Party .

BTW- there is brief nudity by one participant from 4:14 to 4:32 (if you want to skip past this)

This was a protest a against Financial Seems only the Repubs are being accused of being greedy. Democrats Billionaires are the Good-Guys so they were not included. Decided to ask 4 different reporters (from MSM Networks) if they were aware of who had been left off this list. Alternately they played dumb or insisted that Murdoch was on the list and therefore my claim was incorrect. And a network cameraman informed me it was okay for Bloomberg to be left of the list, because this was for the VERY rich... (?)

This march means more overtime for the police and obviously there had to be less police in their neighborhood precincts as there was a large contingent that had to walk the marchers from 59th to 95th street. Before the march, there was lots of MSM media eagerly interviewing the 'average' folk who came out for this rally. The unwashed mob from Zuccotti seems to be missing in the UES march.

Part 2 will be a bit of the march. Never expected much to happen at the homes of these 'greedy' Billionaires, so after Murdoch's residences, I left...

How to Make Obummer's Spending Look Small

DO AMERICANS KNOW MORE ABOUT RELIGIOUS FREEDOM OR AMERICAN IDOL

DO AMERICANS KNOW MORE ABOUT RELIGIOUS FREEDOM OR AMERICAN IDOL?

What is your reaction to American's knowledge of religious freedom, as opposed to American Idol?

Among the big news stories this week (27 May 2012) were two very different issues:

  1. More than 40 different Catholic organizations filed a lawsuit against the federal government over Obamacare’s contraception mandate.
  2. Who would win the latest competition and be crowned the 11th “American Idol.”

So, we have the issue of religious freedom — a cornerstone of our nation and something many people believe is worth fighting and dying over – versus a 13-week televised singing competition.

Which do you think Americans will know more about? Considering the fact that almost 24 percent of the adults in this country are Catholic, you might expect at least some of them to know about the legal action taken by their church to protect their right to practice their faith without government direction or interference. Then again, maybe not.

How to Create a Job: Creating Value, Not Just Work

Continue the discussion at http://www.facebook.com/economicfreedom.

With unemployment still above 9 percent, Americans are searching for answers that will lead to quality, lasting jobs. Past failures of jobs programs show that addressing the symptom instead of the disease has yet to lead to real job growth. Instead of talking about jobs programs, what needs to be discussed is how to provide the right environment for growth: economic freedom.

Obama's Public "Investment" Failures

"Since taking office, Obama has invested billions of taxpayer dollars in private businesses, including as part of his stimulus spending bill. Many of those investments have turned out to be unmitigated disasters — leaving in their wake bankruptcies, layoffs, criminal investigations and taxpayers on the hook for billions."

"Amazingly, Obama has declared that all the projects received funding “based solely on their merits.” But as Hoover Institution scholar Peter Schweizer reported in his book, “Throw Them All Out,” fully 71 percent of the Obama Energy Department’s grants and loans went to “individuals who were bundlers, members of Obama’s National Finance Committee, or large donors to the Democratic Party.” Collectively, these Obama cronies raised $457,834 for his campaign, and they were in turn approved for grants or loans of nearly $11.35 billion. Obama said this week it’s not the president’s job “to make a lot of money for investors.” Well, he sure seems to have made a lot of (taxpayer) money for investors in his political machine.
All that cronyism and corruption is catching up with the administration. According to Politico, “The Energy Department’s inspector general has launched more than 100 criminal investigations” related to the department’s green-energy programs."

Economists have shown that the value of a summer job goes beyond a paycheck. Research published in the Journal of Labor Economics found that high schoolers who worked part-time had a greater likelihood of higher wages and better benefits in future employment, as compared to their classmates that didn't have a job.

“Missing out on summer jobs deprives teens of the opportunity to learn responsibility and important skills not taught in the classroom,” Michael Saltsman, research fellow at the EPI said.

Economic Freedom

How has the United States gotten to be one of the most prominent countries in the world? In addition to our civil liberties, Americans have always enjoyed economic freedom — it’s this freedom which has made us the richest, most advanced society on the planet.

Yet America’s economic freedom is actually on the decline these days. And as our international competitors learn and embrace American-style economic freedom, they are quickly passing us by. So how valuable is economic freedom? Let’s have a look:

This is Part II in an ongoing series from EconomicFreedom.org. In case you missed Part I — a video on economic freedom’s impact on quality of life — you can find it after the jump.

‘REAL NEWS FROM THE BLAZE:’ CONGRESS HEADS FOR THE FISCAL CLIFF

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a new study Tuesday reporting that the economy will shrink 1.3 percent in the first half of next year if the government is allowed to fall off the so-called “fiscal cliff” on January 1: allowing Bush-era tax cuts to expire and sheduled round of automatic spending cuts. Republican House Speaker John Boehner has been vocal in recent weeks begging Democrats to come to the table to tackle the debt ceiling part of the problem now rather than after the election in November. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been cold on that idea though, reinforcing Tuesday that Senate Democrats will not even consider extending the tax cuts until after the fall elections. The Washington Examiner reports on Reid’s confusing response to Republicans interested in moving forward on dealing with the fiscal cliff:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., wrote to Republicans Tuesday, accusing them of caring only about “tax breaks for multimillionaires.”
Reid didn’t directly address the need for the tax cuts, but ripped Republicans for refusing to consider a deficit-cutting plan that would increase taxes in addition to further slashing spending.
“Unfortunately, it appears the that the Republicans’ blind adherence to Tea Party extremism is making it impossible to reach this sort of balanced agreement before the election,” Reid wrote.
On “Real News” Wednesday, the panel was joined by James Otteson of Yeshiva University to discuss how dire the situation is regarding the fiscal cliff, and what can be done on Capitol Hill to deal with the situation.

16-YEAR-OLD CONSERVATIVE GIRL DETAILS DEATH THREATS AFTER POSTING GAY MARRIAGE YOUTUBE VIDEO

16-YEAR-OLD CONSERVATIVE GIRL DETAILS DEATH THREATS AFTER POSTING GAY MARRIAGE YOUTUBE VIDEO
Madeleine McAulay, a sixteen-year-old Christian conservative from North Carolina, is speaking out after receiving a litany of death threats and vile responses for publicly espousing her views on gay marriage.

After North Carolina voted to define marriage as being between a man and a woman, McAulay made a YouTube video in which she lamented the left trying to make it a “fresh” political issue, where she noted that it is actually the 31st state to do so.
She continued:
I’m not going to lie.  I was a bit shocked to hear how [Obama] came to his conclusion for his support of gay marriage.
His daughters?
That’s right, the president of the United States now looks to his young daughters to make major decisions– and what I don’t understand is that the president is being praised for listening to his young daughters and yet I, a sixteen-year-old, when I speak my mind I’m ridiculed by the left.
This makes no sense.
So let me just get this straight.  If I‘m young and I give into the left’s agenda, I’m praised, but I‘m young and I’m conservative, I’m evil?  Hm.
Now I want to be clear.  I don’t hate gay people, so stop trying to say that I do.  I simply believe that traditional marriage is the most productive way, and the Biblical way, to pursue a relationship.

What is your reaction to this 16 year old blogger?

Newt Slams Media For Not Demanding Transparency Of Federal Reserve

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/10/11/newt_slams_media_for_not_demanding_transparency_of_federal_reserve.html

Newt Gingrich is asked about the Occupy Wall Street movement at the Bloomberg debate in New Hampshire:

New Gingrich: "If they want to change things, the first thing to do is fire Bernanke, who is a disaster as chairman of the Federal Reserve. The second person to fire is Geithner. The fact is, in both the Bush and the Obama administrations the fix has been in. And I think it's perfectly reasonable to be angry. But let's be clear about who put the fix in. The fix was put in by the federal government. If you want to put people in jail, I want to second what Michele said, you ought to start with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. And let's look at the politicians who created the environment, the politicians who profited from the environment and the politicians who put this country in trouble."

Charlie Rose, moderator: "Clearly, you're not saying they should go to jail?"

Gingrich: "Well, in Chris Dodd's case, go back to look at the Countryside deals. In Barney Frank's case, go back and look at the lobbyist who was close to Freddie Mac. All I'm saying is, everybody in the media who wants to go after the business community ought to start by going after the politicians who were at the heart of the sickness which is weakening this country and ought to start with Bernanke, who still has not been exposed for the hundreds of billions of dollars."

"I want to repeat this, Bernanke has in secret has spent hundreds of billions of dollars bailing out one group and not bailing another group. I don't see how anybody in the news media demanding the kind of transparency of the Fed that you would demand of every other aspect of the federal government. And I think it is corrupt and wrong for one man to have that kind of secret power."

Hasan can be heard describing disbelief in Islam as an “infirmity” or mental illness.

In Islam, to believe is to know. To disbelieve is not to know. That is what it fundamentally comes down to; it [to disbelieve] is to remain ignorant; to cover up knowledge. After all, what is kaffar? Kaffar comes from the root word which means to cover up, to conceal. The kaffar is the one who covers up that knowledge which is clear. The French orientalist scholar Lamens [?], he once wrote that the Quran is not far from considering unbelief, disbelief as an infirmity, as an illness, as a disease of the human mind. Subhanallah. The latest defense authorization bill passed Friday afternoon in the House without much attention until Michael Hastings over at Buzzfeed noticed something out of the ordinary in the procedural legislation: an amendement that would overturn the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 and Foreign Relations Authorization Act in 1987; legislation that protects U.S. audiences from our own government’s propaganda and misinformation campaigns. The authors of the bill, Texas Republican Rep. Mac Thornberry and Washington Democrat Rep. Adam Smith say that in this age of social media our government needs to be flexible in combating, for example, Al Qaeda’s propaganda that lands on U.S. shores and in front of U.S. citizens via the internet. Critics contend that with the repeal of this legislation whatever administration is in power would now be enabled to disseminate false and biased information to American citizens.
The “Real News” panel opened Monday examining the possible implications of this amendment, as well as the historical context of the Smith-Mundt Act and Foreign Relations Authorization Act in 1987.
The Blaze’s National Security Editor Buck Sexton commented that propaganda during the majority of the 20th Century consisted of U.S. military operations abroad, but with the many forms of instant communication today, such misinformation becomes assessable to anyone with an internet connection. Andrew Wilkow feared that it is difficult to identify how far government participation in propaganda could go, with S.E. Cupp adding that propaganda could make our efforts to spread democracy to foreign cultures seem disingenuous.

Communists Directly Access the Fed

China can now bypass Wall Street when buying U.S. government debt and go straight to the U.S. Treasury, in what is the Treasury's first-ever direct relationship with a foreign government.

The relationship means the People's Bank of China buys U.S. debt using a different method than any other central bank in the world.

the U.S. Treasury Department has given the People's Bank of China a direct computer link to its auction system, which the Chinese first used to buy two-year notes in late June 2011.

Aging Men and Fertility

The paraphrase does not do justice to actually reading the text and quoting from it accurately. The source was not cited but this is "Male age" article in question.

JOURNAL OF ASSISTED REPRODUCTION AND GENETICS, Volume 25, Number 4, 137-143, DOI: 10.1007/s10815-008-9215-4, ASSISTED REPRODUCTION, Male age influences oocyte-donor program results

Eliezer Girsh, Nathan Katz, Leonid Genkin, Ofer Girtler, Jaron Bocker, Sofa Bezdin and Ilya Barr

"The purpose of our research was to examine the relationship between male age and semen parameters in a range of ages (from 20s to 60s) in Egg Donation Program (EDP) cycles. EDP provides a pool of high quality oocytes, thus allowing better analysis of the sperm efficacy."

First of all, the researchers explain their purpose, oocytes.

"Our study confirms that sperm parameters are reduced by age and suggests that this age-dependent effect could be a reason for failures in IVF cycles even in EDP couples."

Secondly, their conclusion is in regards to couples, male and female, and they address both genders.

"While some investigators have found a lower pregnancy rate in recipients of more advanced age, others have not observed this relationship."

The actual study, "Male age," points out that research demonstrates that age is not a consistent factor.

This is a reference to a contrarian study:

Cf. Paulson RJ, Hatch IE, Lobo RA, Sauer MV. Cumulative conception and live birth rates after oocyte donation: implications regarding endometrial receptivity. Hum Reprod 1997; 12:8359.

In the "Male age" study:

"The average age of 484 men in the study was 45.98.2 years old (range 2560 years old; The recipient women's average age was 44.36.81 years old (range 2454)."

They did not examine men older than 60.

The authors state:

"In addition, there is no consensus on the direct relationship between spermatozoa morphology and genetic abnormalities. It has been postulated that there is no correlation between sperm morphology and genetic condition, which leads us to believe that there is no guarantee that spermatozoa with good morphology will not have any genetic abnormalities, and vice versa. Other reports, such as Martin and co-authors, demonstrated that oligozoospermic samples have an increased probability of sperm chromosome abnormality, whether from mild to severe oligozoospermia, whereas chromosomal abnormalities of spermatozoa are not higher in aging males."

There is no consensus on genetic abnormalities; young men can produce abnormalities and older men may not. Most importantly, chromosomal abnormalities are not higher in aging males.

In fact, the authors were surprised by their research.

The authors stated: "We have to admit that several pregnancies occurred from teratozoospermic men, with one case of pregnancy obtained from a 56 year old man with severe teratozoospermia."

Even relatively older men, in this case a 56 year old man, resulted in an unexpected pregnancy.

However, there are expected results: older women decline.

The authors state:

"Natural fertility rates decline in women as they enter the fifth decade of life. By the time of the perimenopause pregnancy rarely occurs, whether or not assisted reproductive techniques are initiated. However, if oocytes are donated by young women to older women, both embryo implantation and pregnancy rates are restored to normal levels in recipients."

Donations by young women can restore older women to normal levels.

On the other hand, for men, "in some cases fertility may be preserved up to a very old age, especially if the ICSI method, that permits one `to fish out' normal spermatozoa in moderate and severe teratozoospermic samples, is successfully employed."

Men can be fertile up to an undetermined, but very old age, and the authors did not find a correlation between aging men and abnormalities.
