Ketty Lester, Love Letters
In 1961, Ketty released her first single, “I’m a Fool to Want You.” Radio listeners and disc jockeys and I preferred the B-side, a reworking of a 1945 hit by Dick Haymes, “Love Letters.” Lester’s cover which features Lincoln Mayorga’s spare, haunting piano arrangement and Earl Palmer on drums.
