Hunter starting working with John Jansen in 1987 on YUI Orta but Red Letter Day didn't get recorded until this effort and it is one of the few solo written songs on the CD. Here Hunter is close to his beloved but the difficulties of relationships is that we often can not see eye to eye with our lovers. We miss each other. The lovers are separated but once the partners come home together again it will be all right. The title of the song comes from the idea of any day with special significance and is a phrase rooted in classical antiquity, e.g., important days are indicated in red in Roman Republic calendars.
