In an effort to better control the nutritional intake of their constituent’s children, Massachusetts lawmakers have approved a ban on school bake sales. “At a minimum, the nosh clampdown targets so-called ‘competitive’ foods — those sold or served during the school day in hallways, cafeterias, stores and vending machines outside the regular lunch program, including bake sales, holiday parties and treats dished out to reward academic achievement,” Laurel J. Sweet and Chris Cassidy write for the Boston Herald. “But state officials are pushing schools to expand the ban 24/7 to include evening, weekend and community events such as banquets, door-to-door candy sales and football games.”
Should lawmakers and school officials regulate parents for their child's eating? Why or why not?
Do public schools accommodate Christian or Jewish religious beliefs? If not, should taxpayers money be used to promote one religion over others? Some ask whether these events are “creeping shariah,” where Islamic law is slowly introduced to the American mainstream. What is your reaction to segregated, Islamist proms?
In the new film “Crossing the Line” by Rapheal Shore and Wayne Kopping, the reality of Antisemitism is revealed with shocking clarity. Anti-Israeli events, protests and rallies have gone from political critiques to the blatant hatred of Jews on college campuses. The trailer and film features UC Irvine, a school whose Muslim Student Union has faced very public controversy. They are now infamous for their Muslim Students Union’s rude protestation of ambassador to Israel Michael Oren during his visit to the school in 2009, for which several students have now been convicted.

The relationship between environmental regulation and economic growth has gone from dysfunctional to disastrous under the leadership of Obama's EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson. Jackson's EPA has assumed broad new powers and promulgated sweeping new regulations unlike anything America has seen since the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act were signed into law 40 years ago. While much of the public has focused on the EPA's plans to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions, the agency's power grab extends into far more areas of society and the economy than fossil-fuel use alone.
This video explains why Obama's EPA is different and more dangerous than any other since the agency was created. While the tentacles of this EPA are silently creeping into our lives, Lisa Jackson smilingly assures us that everything the EPA does generates revenue -- instead of costing industry billions of dollars and America hundreds of thousands of jobs.
How and in what way does the OBL mission compare to the leadership qualities of past presidents?

A tax on toilet paper; I kid you not. According to the sponsor, "the Water Protection and Reinvestment Act will be financed broadly by small fees on such things as . . . products disposed of in waste water." Congress wants to tax what you do in the privacy of your bathroom.
