Why would you suppose natural gas lines are the target? What is your reaction to this latest series of attacks?

SCADA

Acronym for supervisory control and data acquisition, a computer system for gathering and analyzing real time data. SCADA systems are used to monitor and control a plant or equipment in industries such as telecommunications, water and waste control, energy, oil and gas refining and transportation. A SCADA system gathers information, such as where a leak on a pipeline has occurred, transfers the information back to a central site, alerting the home station that the leak has occurred, carrying out necessary analysis and control, such as determining if the leak is critical, and displaying the information in a logical and organized fashion. SCADA systems can be relatively simple, such as one that monitors environmental conditions of a small office building, or incredibly complex, such as a system that monitors all the activity in a nuclear power plant or the activity of a municipal water system. SCADA systems were first used in the 1960s.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell's Hostile Interview With Herman Cain

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/10/06/fireworks_msnbcs_lawrence_odonnell_hostile_interview_with_herman_cain.html

Lawrence O'Donnell tries to pit Herman Cain as anti-black and a draft dodger in a bizarre interview that didn't seem have to a point other than to attack Mr. Cain. However, the GOP presidential candidate remained poised throughout.

Mr. Cain worked for the Navy in the field of ballistics during the war. Lawrence O'Donnell? He received a deferment since he was attending college.

O'Donnell tried to paint Cain as some sort of traitor to blacks because he didn't participate in protests and sit-ins during the Civil Rights era.

"I did not insult the intelligence of all black Americans," Herman Cain said about his 'brainwashing' comment. "I insulted the attitude of those that will not consider an alternate idea." He also said black voters "did not consider my statement insulting because a lot of them are thinking for themselves."

"Now, if they want to talk about insulting, they need to look at the president when he talks to the Congressional Black Caucus and insulted black people, in my opinion, by telling them to take off their slippers and put on their marching boots when he has had nothing but failed policies," Cain said in response to Lawrence accusing him of insulting black Americans.

Understanding The Financial Crisis--For Kids and Grownups

The Coming Islamic Caliphate

The Caliphate
It is important to understand what the caliphate is, its place in Muslim society and its significance.
The cornerstone of Islamic theology, the caliphate, or khilafah, is the central, authoritarian government that was implemented after the death of the Prophet Muhammad by his disciples in 632 AD. It derives its authority from and governs by Shariah law, and is presided over by a “caliph,“ or ”successor” who holds both legislative and spiritual power.
Per the tenets of Islam, this “state” is not limited to encompassing only Muslims across Muslim lands, rather, the goal is to ultimately establish a global caliphate that would mandate people of all walks live embrace Islam and submit to being governed by Islamic law. The khilafah is also the form of government endorsed by the Muslim Brotherhood, which is why many are justly concerned over the Islamic group’s rise to power and influence in American government.
In March 1924, reformer and president of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, constitutionally destroyed the “Khilafah State.” Today, an organization dedicated to the reestablishment of a global caliphate, Khilafah.com, stated that Ataturk’s move marked the end of “an illustrious era of Islamic rule” and that, since then, “the dark shadow of the West has engulfed the world.”
Glenn Beck Uses Speech by Egyptian Cleric Safwat Higazi to Point Out Support for Caliphate Among Muslim Brotherhood
To illustrate what Islamists believe regarding Islam and the caliphate, consider the following passage from their unified online voice:
We assert, without compromise, that it is only by the establishment of the Khilafah State, that the practical solutions of Islam can once again provide a real alternative for the entire world. The ‘Clash of Civilisations’ first discussed by Samuel Huntington is real and inevitable. We endorse the notion that there is a civilisational difference between Islam and the West and that the problem for the West is Islam and the problem for Islam is the West. By arguing this, we also maintain Islam, as a universal ideology, came for all of humankind, Muslim and Non-Muslims, and as such it is only Islam that serves as a Rahma (mercy) for all mankind.
Khilafah.com goes on to assert that “the only challenge” to encroaching Western dominance “must come from Islam.”  Thus, to Islamists, the caliphate is vitally important in their fight against Western democracy and to ensure the adoption of Islam and the implementation of Shariah law across the world.
Those who closely follow the words and deeds of terrorist groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah and al Qaeda will recall that establishing a global caliphate founded upon Islamic law has been among the militants’ most fervently declared goals.
Writing for the New York Sun in 2005, Daniel Pipes noted that the Islamists who assassinated former Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat in 1981 adorned their holding cages with banners that read: “caliphate or death.” He continued:
Bin Laden himself spoke of ensuring that “the pious caliphate will start from Afghanistan.” His chief deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, also dreamed of re-establishing the caliphate, for then, he wrote, “history would make a new turn, God willing, in the opposite direction against the empire of the United States and the world’s Jewish government.” Another Al-Qaeda leader, Fazlur Rehman Khalil, publishes a magazine that has declared “Due to the blessings of jihad, America’s countdown has begun. It will declare defeat soon,” to be followed by the creation of a caliphate.
While some might argue that there is a difference between the Muslim Brotherhood and state-recognized terrorist organizations, consider that the Brotherhood is no innocent lamb. Founded by an Adolf Hitler admirer, the Islamic militant group is the predecessor of Hamas, Hezbollah and even al Qaeda, and is often cited as a parent to each of the terrorist groups.
One of the reasons some believe the Muslim Brotherhood is a moderate group is via its seemingly extensive community service work. It operates under the veneer of a socially-conscious organization focused on youth-outreach, school and mosque development, and even the coordination of sporting events for the “good” of the community.
Once examined under a more discerning lens, however, the true colors of the Muslim Brotherhood emerge. Of the militant Islamist group’s dual identity, scholar Martin Kramer stated: “On one level, they operated openly, as a membership organization of social and political awakening. Banna preached moral revival, and the Muslim Brethren engaged in good works. On another level, however, the Muslim Brethren created a ‘secret apparatus’ that acquired weapons and trained adepts in their use. Some of its guns were deployed against the Zionists in Palestine in 1948, but the Muslim Brethren also resorted to violence in Egypt.
Kramer goes on to explain that the Brotherhood enforced their own moral teachings “by intimidation, and they initiated attacks against Egypt’s Jews.”

A Better Life for Julia

The Heritage Foundation

FactCheck.org’s summary of its findings:
  • The campaign falsely claims Romney would leave Julia with “nothing but a voucher” to buy health insurance at age 65. Actually, the plan Romney has endorsed would let her choose between traditional Medicare fee-for-service coverage, or a variety of private plans with premiums partially paid by the government.
  • The slide show also contends that Julia, as a senior citizen, will have to pay “$6,350 extra per year” for a health care plan similar to Medicare. But that’s an out-of-date cost estimate based on a year-old plan that since has been made substantially more generous.
  • At age 67, Julia can “retire comfortably” under Obama but, “Under Mitt Romney: Julia’s benefits could be cut by 40%.” But the fact is Obama has not proposed any plan to avoid a 25 percent cut in benefits for all Social Security beneficiaries, which the system’s trustees say is looming in 2033 unless changes are made.
  • As a 22-year-old college student, Julia needs surgery that is covered “due to a provision in health care reform” keeping her on her parents’ insurance. Fair enough. But she’d probably be covered anyway: Thirty-seven states already have similar mandates on the books.
  • As a 31-year-old expectant mother, Julia “benefits from maternal checkups” required under the new health care law. But she would probably get that care anyway; 85 percent of full-time workers have health insurance now, and a 1978 federal law already requires that employer-provided insurance generally must “cover expenses for pregnancy-related conditions.”

SHOULD ROMNEY HAVE CALLED OUT A TOWN HALL PARTICIPANT FOR SAYING OBAMA SHOULD BE ‘TRIED FOR TREASON’?

SHOULD ROMNEY HAVE CALLED OUT A TOWN HALL PARTICIPANT FOR SAYING OBAMA SHOULD BE ‘TRIED FOR TREASON’?

During a question and answer period, an audience member openly proclaimed that Obama should be tried for treason.

Here’s his response to a CNN reporter about the incident:

“Today we saw Mitt Romney’s version of leadership: standing by silently as his chief surrogate attacked the president’s family at the event and another supporter alleged that the president should be tried for treason,” proclaimed Lis Smith, a spokeswoman for Obama re-election campaign. “Time after time in this campaign, Mitt Romney has had the opportunity to show that he has the fortitude to stand up to hateful and over-the-line rhetoric and time after time, he has failed to do so.”

What do you think? Should Romney have corrected the woman?

Hope & Change Liberals Protest Obama, So Why Aren’t They Called Racists Like the Tea Party?

HOW OUR GOVERNMENT HELPED AL QAEDA

HOW OUR GOVERNMENT HELPED AL QAEDA

Mayor G. Paul Miller, a long-time judge and retired school teacher, delivered the “government” address, and here it is (emphasis added):
——————
There are many aspects of government that are worthy of consideration, but in the limited time available tonight let us concentrate on civil liberties, rights and freedoms, and how our government is dealing with those issues.
On September 11, 2001, al Qaeda terrorists stated a group of suicide attacks on the United States that caused significant property damage and massive loss of life. As terrible as the 9-11 attacks were, a longer-lasting and perhaps even more serious injury to our country is still continuing and slowly getting worse. The greatest tragedy is that while the actual physical terrorist attacks have been controlled, al Qaeda has actually succeeded  in seriously damaging the basic structure of our country — with the unwitting help of the American government.
The government responded to the attacks with legislation called the Patriot Act — The Patriot Act is composed of many laws already on the books that are designed to counter terrorism in the United States. What distinguishes the Patriot Act from these pre-September 11 laws is its ENABLING characteristics. Put simply, the criminal statutes, investigative rules and court procedures which safeguarded our constitutionally guaranteed civil liberties in previous anti-terror legislation were stripped away by the Patriot Act. They have been replaced by a system of Executive Branch Orders, now institutionalized in the Department of Homeland Security.
How does the Patriot Act affect our freedoms? The Patriot Act seriously damages the following constitutionally granted freedoms in the name of conducing terrorism investigations:
FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION: Government may investigate religious, labor and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION: Government has closed once-public immigration hearings, has secretly detained hundreds of people without charges and has encouraged bureaucrats to resist public records requests.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH: Government may prosecute librarians or keepers of any other records if they tell anyone that the government subpoenaed information.
RIGHT TO LEGAL REPRESENTATION: Government may listen in on federal prison jailhouse conversations between attorneys and clients and deny lawyers to Americans accused of crimes.
FREEDOM FROM UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Government may search and seize Americans’ personal records, business documents and telephone or internet activity without probable cause or court order.
RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial on mere suspicion.
RIGHT TO LIBERTY: Americans may be jailed without being charged or being able to confront the witnesses against them.
Another serious level of concern is generated by the continuation and expansion of these laws that ignore our constitution and invade our privacy.
The Patriot Act was set to automatically expire in February 2010, but Congress re-authorized it and the President signed it into law again at that time.
On December 31, 2011, the President signed a law known as the National Defense Authorization Act for the 2012 fiscal year. Normally, this is just an act which funds the Department of Defense and which is passed every year. However, the act passed for the 2012 fiscal year has extensive changes and can be seen as an extension of the Patriot Act. Now, the indefinite detention has been extended to United States citizens as well. If people are spied on and suspected of being terrorists, they may be detained indefinitely without trial.
In a country famous for the belief that one is innocent until proven guilty, this is an upsetting change that is being placed upon the American people with many unaware of what it means.
The provisions of the Patriot Act allow the government to spy upon U.S. citizens, and the National Defense Authorization Act allows the government to whisk a citizen away to imprisonment for no reason other than being suspected of terrorism.
The President’s lawyers have stated that not only may the President kill Americans HE THINKS have taken sides with the enemy in the Global War on Terror, but also his decision to do so is not reviewable by the courts.
That statement by the President’s lawyers was in response to questions about the killing of an American citizen who was also an al Qaeda terrorist — Anwar al-Awlaki.
As one progresses down this path of escalating government removal of our civil liberties, right and freedoms, it becomes obvious that the America we once had where the rule of Constitutional Law could be depended on is rapidly disappearing.
We should remember that while the terrorist attacks came primarily from outside America, the damage to our liberties, rights and freedoms came (and is continuing to come) primarily from our own government.
It is worthy to note that Benjamin Franklin said: “Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”
Let us fervently hope and pray that we can restore our country to the shining example of a Free Constitutional Democracy that it once was.

MASSACHUSETTS OUTLAWS SCHOOL BAKE SALES

MASSACHUSETTS OUTLAWS SCHOOL BAKE SALES

In an effort to better control the nutritional intake of their constituent’s children, Massachusetts lawmakers have approved a ban on school bake sales. “At a minimum, the nosh clampdown targets so-called ‘competitive’ foods — those sold or served during the school day in hallways, cafeterias, stores and vending machines outside the regular lunch program, including bake sales, holiday parties and treats dished out to reward academic achievement,” Laurel J. Sweet and Chris Cassidy write for the Boston Herald. “But state officials are pushing schools to expand the ban 24/7 to include evening, weekend and community events such as banquets, door-to-door candy sales and football games.”

Should lawmakers and school officials regulate parents for their child's eating? Why or why not?

In the new film “Crossing the Line” by Rapheal Shore and Wayne Kopping, the reality of Antisemitism is revealed with shocking clarity. Anti-Israeli events, protests and rallies have gone from political critiques to the blatant hatred of Jews on college campuses. They are now infamous for their Muslim Students Union’s rude protestation of ambassador to Israel Michael Oren during his visit to the school in 2009, for which several students have now been convicted.

The EPA's Green Tyranny

Read Rich Trzupek's How The EPA's Green Tyranny Is Stifling America here: http://tinyurl.com/3tqwfzc

The relationship between environmental regulation and economic growth has gone from dysfunctional to disastrous under the leadership of Obama's EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson. Jackson's EPA has assumed broad new powers and promulgated sweeping new regulations unlike anything America has seen since the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act were signed into law 40 years ago. While much of the public has focused on the EPA's plans to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions, the agency's power grab extends into far more areas of society and the economy than fossil-fuel use alone.

This video explains why Obama's EPA is different and more dangerous than any other since the agency was created. While the tentacles of this EPA are silently creeping into our lives, Lisa Jackson smilingly assures us that everything the EPA does generates revenue -- instead of costing industry billions of dollars and America hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Overview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfSpolVao4w&feature=player_embedded

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' — a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.

Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within — a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.

It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents. The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.

We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.

U.S. Army Document Outlines Plan For Re-Education Camps In America

FM 3-39.40 Internment and Resettlement Operations (PDF) was originally released on a restricted basis to the DoD in February 2010, but has now been leaked online.

The manual outlines policies for processing detainees into internment camps both globally and inside the United States. International agencies like the UN and the Red Cross are named as partners in addition to domestic federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA.

“The authority to approve resettlement such operations within U.S. territories,” would require a “special exception” to The Posse Comitatus Act, which can be obtained via “the President invoking his executive authority.”

Once the detainees have been processed into the internment camp, the manual explains how they will be “indoctrinated,” with a particular focus on targeting political dissidents, into expressing support for U.S. policies.

The manual lists the following roles that are designated to the “PSYOP team”. - Identifies malcontents, trained agitators, and political leaders within the facility who may try to organize resistance or create disturbances. - Develops and executes indoctrination programs to reduce or remove antagonistic attitudes. - Identifies political activists. - Provides loudspeaker support (such as administrative announcements and facility instructions when necessary). - Helps the military police commander control detainee and DC populations during emergencies. - Plans and executes a PSYOP program that produces an understanding and appreciation of U.S. policies and actions.

Obama Administration Defends the Sharia Female Genital Mutilation

Obama's U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released this "fact sheet" about clitorectomies (female genital mutilation) stating “although many people believe that FGC is associated with Islam, it is not. FGC is not supported by any religion and is condemned by many religious leaders.”

“No religious text requires or even supports cutting female genitals. In fact, Islamic Shari'a protects children and protects their rights.”

Despite the fact that the federal government is defending Islamic sharia the truth of the matter is that the sharia does condone the practice. For example:

“Circumcision is obligatory. For men it consists of removing the prepuce from the penis, and for women, removing the prepuce (Ar. Bazr) of the clitoris."

Cf. Sacred Islamic Reliance: p. 59, Umdat al-Salik (“Reliance of the Traveler”), a manual of Islamic jurisprudence certified as "reliable" by Al-Azhar University, the leading Islamic seminary in the world.

Moreover, the Islamic practice is sanctioned in the U.S. by Dr. Hatem al-Haj, a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics and a leading Muslim jurist.

ATF Fast and Furious: New documents show Attorney General Eric Holder was briefed in July 2010

Attorney General Eric Holder's statement to Congress in May, 2011.

New documents obtained by CBS News show Attorney General Eric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial Fast and Furious operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his statement to Congress.

On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."

Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

The Justice Department told CBS News that the officials in those emails were talking about a different case started before Eric Holder became Attorney General. And tonight they tell CBS News, Holder misunderstood that question from the committee - he did know about Fast and Furious - just not the details.

If two ads are exactly alike, except for the religion referred to, why do you suppose the NYT will run one ad but not the one referring to Islam?

Obama Admits "Girlfriend" in Bio is a Lie: Pakistani buddy, becomes an American black

Obama: 'New York girlfriend' was composite.

It makes you wonder what else he made up, no?

David Maraniss discusses "his friendship with Pakistani students at Occidental and his extended visit to their country."

What was he doing in Pakistan?

Later on, Maraniss continues: "He (Soetoro) was still in a cocoon phase, wondering about his place, keeping mostly to himself, occasionally hanging out with his Pakistani friends, who partied too much and too hard, he thought, but were warm and generous and buoyant intellectual company."

At the very least, this demonstrates an affinity with Pakistanis, again.

"If Barack and Genevieve were in social occasions as a couple, it was almost always with the Pakistanis. Hasan Chandoo had moved back from London and taken a place in a converted warehouse on the waterfront below Brooklyn Heights. Wahid Hamid, starting a rise up the corporate ladder that would take him to the top of PepsiCo, lived on Long Island with his wife. Sohale Siddiqi was part of the crowd, along with Beenu Mahmood. It was a movable feast, and invariably a matter of bounty and excess, friends losing themselves in food and conversation. Barack for the most part declined alcohol and drugs. “He was quite abstemious,” Genevieve said. She enjoyed the warmth of the gatherings, but was usually ready to go home before him. He was pushing away from the Pakistanis, too, politely, for a different reason, she thought. He wanted something more.

Beenu Mahmood saw a shift in Obama that corresponded to Genevieve’s perceptions. He could see Obama slowly but carefully distancing himself as a necessary step in establishing his political identity as an American."

The gist of it confirms that Obama is not a natural born citizen; he made a conscious ploy to work with blacks in Chicago, his first extensive contact with American blacks, and he developed the persona of an American.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE INTRODUCES ‘LIL POUNDCAKE,’ THE HPV VACCINE DOLL

Saturday Night Live used the recent controversy over Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s executive order mandating HPV vaccinations to introduce Lil Poundcake…the vaccine-administering doll for girls.

She looks so cool with her clothing and cell phone, but just wait for her syringes to extend and shoot you up when you least expect it! You could be playing outside, having a tea party or even fast asleep. With Lil Poundcake, you’ll never have to worry about HPV again — just remember to dispose of her in a medical waste container at your local hospital when you’re done playing.

“Lil Poundcake…the only thing you’re going to get infected with — is fun!”

Obummer Slows Down Natural Gas Production by Executive Fiat

Natural gas gets 80 miles a gallon at .66 cents a gallon.

The Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar, has done everything bureaucratically possible to stymie increased oil production. In addition, more regulations are forthcoming when the Apr. 17, 2012, EPA Issued the First Ever Clean Air Rules for Natural Gas Produced by Fracking.

9/11 Commission Report

9/11 Commission Report

"Recommendation: At this time of increased and consolidated government authority, there should be a board within the executive branch to oversee adherence to the guidelines we recommend and the commitment the government makes to defend our civil liberties.

We must find ways of reconciling security with liberty, since the success of one helps protect the other. The choice between security and liberty is a false choice, as nothing is more likely to endanger America's liberties than the success of a terrorist attack at home. Our history has shown us that insecurity threatens liberty. Yet, if our liberties are curtailed, we lose the values that we are struggling to defend" (p. 395).
