NETANYAHU SAYS IRAN ‘20 YARDS’ FROM A NUCLEAR WEAPON

“It’s like Timothy McVeigh walking into a shop in Oklahoma City and saying, `I’d like to tend my garden. I’d like to buy some fertilizer.’ … Come on. We know that they’re working on a weapon,” Netanyahu explained.

“You know, they’re in the last 20 yards, and you can’t let them cross that goal line,” Netanyahu said on NBC’s Meet the Press. “You can’t let them score a touchdown, because that would have unbelievable consequences, grievous consequences for the peace and security of us all, of the world really.”

Netanyahu cited historical examples known to most Americans to make his case: President John F. Kennedy’s demand that the Soviets remove its missiles sites in Cuba “maybe purchased decades of peace,” Netanyahu said.  And absent a similar “red line,” then-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein faced a U.S. attack in 1991 after invading Kuwait.

“Maybe that war could have been avoided,” Netanyahu said.

The prime minister also pointed to America’s inability to prevent the 9/11 hijackings as proof that intelligence can fail.

Netanyahu insisted that his motivations are not political, but reflected a key sense of urgency.

“What’s guiding my statements is not the American political calendar but the Iranian nuclear calendar,” he remarked.

“All the things that you see now in these mobs storming the American Embassies is what you will see with a regime that would have atomic bombs,” Netanyahu said on CNN, reiterating: “You can’t [let] such people have atomic bombs.”

The Israeli leader summarized: “I think that there’s a common interest of all Americans, of all political persuasions, to stop Iran…This is a regime that is giving vent to the worst impulses that you see right now in the Middle East.”

Obama as Savior, Grandkid, by John G.

John G. Is 63 years old and owns a small business. He's a life-long Republican and sees his dream of retiring next year has all but evaporated. With the stock market crashing and new taxes coming his way, John assumes now that he will work to his dying day.

John has a granddaughter. Ashley is a recent college grad. She drives a flashy hybrid car, wears all the latest fashions, and loves to go out to nightclubs and restaurants. Ashley campaigned hard for Barack Obama. After the election she made sure her grandfather (and all other Republican family members) received a big I told-you-so earful on how the world is going to be a much better place now that her party is taking over.

Having lost both roommates, Ashley recently ran short of cash and cannot pay the rent (again) on her 3 bedroom townhouse... Like she has done many times in the past, she e-mailed her grandfather asking for some financial help.

Here is his reply:

Sweetheart, I received your request for assistance. Ashley, you know I love you dearly and I'm sympathetic to your financial plight. Unfortunately, times have changed. With the election of President Obama, your grandmother and I have had to set forth a bold new economic plan of our own...."The Ashley Economic Empowerment Plan." Let me explain.

Your grandmother and I are life-long, wage-earning tax payers. We have lived a comfortable life, as you know, but we have never had the fancier things like European vacations, luxury cars, etc... We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring soon. But the plan has changed. Your president is raising our personal and business taxes significantly. He says it is so he can give our hard earned money to other people... Do you know what this means, Ashley? It means less for us, and we must cut back on many business and personal expenses.

You know the wonderful receptionist who worked in my office for more than 23 years? The one who always gave you candy when you came over to visit? I had to let her go last week. I can't afford to pay her salary and all of the government mandated taxes that go with having employees.... Your grandmother will now work 4 days a week to answer phones, take orders and handle the books. We will be closed on Fridays and will lose even more income.

I'm also very sorry to report that your cousin Frank will no longer be working summers in the warehouse. I called him at school this morning. He already knows about it and he's upset because he will have to give up skydiving and his yearly trip to Greenland to survey the polar bears.

That's just the business side of things. Some personal economic effects of Obama's new taxation policies include none other than you. You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing, clothing, gifts, etc., etc. But by your vote, you have chosen to help others -- not at your expense -- but at our expense.

If you need money now sweetheart, I recommend you call             202-456-1111      . That is the direct phone number for the White House.. You can also contact the White House here:http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/%C2%A0;...

You yourself told me how foolish it is to vote Republican... You said Mr. Obama is going to be the People's President, and is going to help every American live a better life. Based on everything you've told me, along with all the promises we heard during the campaign, I'm sure Mr. Obama will be happy to transfer some stimulus money into your bank account. Have him call me for the account number which I memorized years ago.

Perhaps you can now understand what I've been saying all my life: Those who vote for a president should consider the impact on the nation as a whole, and not be just concerned with what they can get for themselves. What Obama supporters don't seem to realize is all of the money he is redistributing to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying Americans (the so-called "less fortunate") comes from tax-paying families.

Remember how you told me, "Only the richest of the rich will be affected"? Well guess what, honey? Because we own a business, your grandmother and I are now considered to be the richest of the rich. On paper, it might look that way, but in the real world, we are far from it..

As you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the burden so all of America can prosper... You understand what that means, right? It means that raising taxes on productive people results in them having less money; less money for everything, including granddaughters.

I'm sorry, Ashley, but the well has run dry. The free lunches are over... I have no money to give you now. So, congratulations on your choice for "change." For future reference, I encourage you to try and add up the total value of the gifts and cash you have received from us, just since you went off to college, and compare it to what you expect to get from Mr. Obama over the next 4 (or 8) years. I have not kept track of it, Ashley. It has all truly been the gift of our hearts.

Remember, we love you dearly.... but from now on you'll need to call the number mentioned above. Your "Savior" has the money we would have given to you. Just try and get it from him.

Good luck, sweetheart.

Britain AD

A series of three one hour programmes, presented by leading archaeologist and sheep-farmer Francis Pryo, re-examine Britain A.D, the Arthurian myth, the British national character and the mysterious period of British history known as 'The Dark Ages'. Finding new and previously unexplained evidence Francis Pryor overturns the idea that Britain was crushed under Roman rule, then reverted to a state of anarchy and disorder after the Romans left in 410 AD. Instead of doom and gloom Francis discovers a continuous culture that assimilated influences from as far a field as the Middle East and Constantinople. Francis is confronted by evidence that confounds traditional views of Britain as a powerless bunch or warring barbarian tribes. Nor was there the invasion of bloodthirsty Anglo Saxons, rampaging across the countryside, which our school books have always depicted. With new archaeological evidence Francis discovers a far more interesting and complex story, one that puts the continuing energy of the Ancient Britons at the core. According to conventional wisdom, native British culture was suppressed by 400 years of Roman rule, and the withdrawal of the mighty imperial army in 410AD threw the country into a state of primitive barbarism, which only came to an end with the invasion of the more advanced Anglo Saxons. With detailed archaeology, cutting-edge academic research and his own brand of iconoclasm, writer and broadcaster, and presenter of Britain AD, Francis Pryor argues that we've got this version of British history wrong. Francis shows how archaeologists are beginning to reveal that the early history of Britain was in fact a vibrant period in which the population thrived from a series of foreign influences from as far afield as the Middle East and Constantinople without losing its own cultural identity. In the first episode Francis tells the story of Roman Britain from the perspective of the native Britons rather than the conquering army, and reveals that the invasion was not a brutal suppression of indigenous culture, but a mutually beneficial experience which the Britons may have actually instigated.

A lawsuit accuses Hertz of intentionally creating a “hostile work environment owing to religious, race and national origin discrimination” by terminating the drivers.

Before the show while chatting with the roadie M.C. and Steve pulled up while I was leaving. I wished them a good show and shouted that the last two nights were great. They both said "thanks" and I responded the same.

I ran into Paul Page before the sound check to tell him I am glad that All American Alien Boy was still in the set, it was moved to a later point in the show and I thought perhaps at World Cafe Live it was not to be played: otherwise, I would miss his bass solo which is first-rate. Paul introduced me to his buddy Pat Fitzgerald, the drummer from Martin's Folly, who had driven down with him from NYC.

On 2003's "From Hope," Martin's Folly featured a cameo appearance from Ian Hunter on "I Wish I Was Your Mother."

The video explains the reason there are still refugees after more than six decades is because of Arab leaders' recalcitrance to accept their brethren and the United Nations which created a separate agency with unique principles and criteria. The video also highlights the issue of the Jewish refugees who were forced out of their homes in the Arab world, and were subsequently absorbed by the State of Israel.

EGYPTIAN COPTIC CHRISTIAN TESTIFIES BEFORE CONGRESS: ‘I AM A WOMAN AND I’M A COPT. I’M A FOURTH-CLASS CITIZEN’

EGYPTIAN COPTIC CHRISTIAN TESTIFIES BEFORE CONGRESS: ‘I AM A WOMAN AND I’M A COPT. I’M A FOURTH-CLASS CITIZEN’

This week, Egyptian political activist Cynthia Farahat testified before the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission in the House of Representatives. Reps. Frank Wolf and James McDermott presented Under Threat: The Worsening Plight of Egypt's Coptic Christians.

Ms. Farahat spoke about her experiences as an activist and co-founder of the Liberal Egyptian Party in 2006, while in her twenties-- the platform of which argued for "secularism, human rights, capitalism, the rule of law, and rejection of pan-Arabism and Islamic imperialism," not to mention the rejection of Shariah.

“I‘m a woman and I’m a Copt. I’m a fourth-class citizen in Egypt.”

That was among the many chilling revelations put forth in a testimony to Congress this week by Egyptian political activist Cynthia Farahat. The Coptic Christian and co-founder of the Liberal Egyptian Party, testified before the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission in the House of Representatives, sharing her experience on the worsening plight of Christians under sharia law, and soon-to-be Islamic authoritarian regime in Egypt.

Reps. Frank Wolf and James McDermott presented the hearing, “Under Threat: The Worsening Plight of Egypt’s Coptic Christians.”

According to the Center for Security Policy, the organization that organized the hearings and brought this must-see video to The Blaze’s attention, describes Farahat’s political platform as advocating, ”secularism, human rights, capitalism, the rule of law, and rejection of pan-Arabism and Islamic imperialism.”

Below is a partial transcript of Farahat’s moving testimony before Congress. The video follows:

In 1971, President Sadat introduced shariah law to the constitution and now I think it’s, qualifies to say that Egypt is a constitutional theocracy and it’s not a modern state. The consequences were that Copts are no longer, according to shariah law, identified or defined as citizen. I have an Egyptian passport, but I’m not a citizen. The concept of citizenship is a Western concept that does not apply to us in Egypt. I‘m a woman and I’m a Copt. I’m a fourth-class citizen in Egypt. A first-class citizen in Egypt is the Sunni male, Muslim male. The second-class is the Sunni female. The third-class is the Coptic male. And fourth-class is the Coptic female.

And that’s why none of the people that committed crimes, none of the criminals that committed crimes against Copts were prosecuted in any way. Because it is against shariah law and that’s a fact. It’s not an opinion. To persecute someone for – a Muslim, for killing, raping, torturing, or vandalizing the property of a non-Muslim or a dhimmi. So this is our legal status. And this has been happening under the Mubarak’s so-called moderate regime, an ally of the West, and it’s now happening now. It was only inevitable that they take their radicalism a step further and start killing Copts in the street in front of TV cameras with live ammunition and running them over with armored military vehicles they probably got from the United States of America.

Subject: The Islam Project for ninth graders in the Ontario High School

TO: Mary Bennett, President, Ontario Board of Education
Mrs. Shelly Fisher, Vice President, Ontario Board of Education
Mr. Andy Chalk, Member, Ontario Board of Education
Mr. Tom Beck, Member, Board of Education
Mr Sam VanCura, Member, Board of Education

I appreciate the Ontario School system and recognize that it is one of the better school systems around. Your leadership is evident in the buildings, financial management and quality of education provided to our children. It is obvious you each take your responsibility seriously. I also appreciate your accessibility. It was very easy to find your web site, read the board minutes, and acquaint myself with who you are.

Now allow me to introduce myself. I am the grandmother of new ninth grader, C xxxxx. C, her sister, and her parents live with my husband and myself. I am very involved in the lives of my grandchildren and we regularly discuss educational topics. These girls do not play video games and spend their time texting. We play board games and work together on projects and interact a lot. My husband and I both work full time and invest the rest of our lives in our family.  It is Connie who brought this book to my attention and asked if I would read it to get my opinion.

A book of historical fiction called "A stone in my hand" was assigned to the class as mandatory reading prior to the first day of school.  It is written in the first person voice of a Muslim Arab child living in the Gaza during the intifada years of 1987 - 1993. I was more than stunned and appalled at this agenda for English and Social studies assigned to ninth graders this year. I have no problem with historically accurate studies, studies of other cultures and religions. But I do have a problem with a slanted presentation that is clearly anti-Semitic, anti-Christian and pro-Islam. Not only am I offended at the book, but today I had a chance to review the the worksheets sent home as homework for this 9 week course. The worksheet's title is "Islam Project - Growth of Islam". Islam is a very specific religion. So this, in my opinion, is religious indoctrination masked as Social Studies and English. This is not an elective class on world religions.  How in the world did this happen?
.
I want to know at what level the decision was made to choose this book and this agenda and why there was not also offered an alternative to students whose families may be Jewish or Messianic gentile believers in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? I instructed my granddaughter not to read out loud the prayer to allah on page 8 of this book. It is a violation of our religion to speak a prayer to another god. I regret she even had to read it in order to comply with this assignment. I certainly hope there are not any children of Jewish origin in the ninth grade there. This course of study is the height of insult to them. The very first page of this book contains a translated "nursery" rhyme, written by a young girl living in the Gaza:

"I am the child of Palestine
I have my cause and I have my rights
When I see my older brother
Taken up into outlaws' hands
I cry out the international cry
That if they shoot me to my death
I'll clutch a stone in my right hand
And never forget the martyrs' cause."

Understand that the "outlaw" is any Jewish person and the "martyr" is an Islamic Arab child who was taught that suicide bombing is a righteous thing to do.

The "Islam Project" worksheet directs our children to a Muslim web site (www.zawaj.com). I consider that unwise and dangerous. Islam is not a religious system to be laid out before our children lightly, and certainly not one they should explore on line without serious informed parental supervision.  Surely you must know of the incredibly abusive treatment of women that is rampant in the fundamentalist Islamic cultures - the Jihad suicide attacks that mothers are encouraged to send their sons and daughters on with promises of financial reward - the rockets being fired every day - NOW - from Gaza into Israel by the hundreds of thousands. This is not a nice pretty "let's all just get along" religion. Will there also be a "Judeo / Christian project" in which the birth of the Jewish state of Israel is presented and the holocaust explained? How about the attack on infant Israel by the highly organized armies of the surrounding Arab nations a few days after it became a state? How about the 6 day war and the Yom Kippur war? Will all of that be explained also?  Will the Twin Towers attack be included as part of the full understanding of Islam? Will these children be told that, to a fundamentalist Muslim, it is a "divine" act to murder all infidels - non-Muslims  - and every one of these children would be included in that group? I doubt it.

I fully understand the principles of diversity and learning other cultures and religions. I am an RN in a management position and have created diversity curriculum and taught it to my staff. I have a college degree and have studied most of the religions of the world, to some degree. I have worked in Alabama, Massachusetts, Haiti and  Russia and spent time in Israel. I personally subscribe to Messianic Judaism. So I have more diversity in my experience than most people. To make Islam appear to be just another happy - go - lucky religion that we just need to understand better to get along, would not have prevented the twin towers from being attacked nor would that "tolerance" stop men, women and children from strapping bombs to their bodies and riding buses into crowded places in Israel. I have been to Israel twice. I was there during the Hebron Massacre and had to be escorted out of Jericho with the Israeli army. I personally saw Muslim Arab men lined up along the road to Jericho, hurling huge boulders into passing Israeli cars in protest over the Hebron incident. Will that side of this religion and culture also be taught?

What this agenda is doing is so dangerous, so offensive that I cannot believe it got anywhere near a school curriculum. Are not other parents outraged?

I read through all of your bylaws and Board meeting minutes looking for someplace that addressed who is responsible for choosing your curriculum but I could not find that information. I would certainly like to know. Who reviews this before our children do? Did any of you read this book? Were you aware of this 9 week agenda? How did this happen?

Thank you for your time. I hope this generates some concern and investigation.

Sincerely,

A concerned grandmother

‘WORDS MATTER’: AMATEUR COMPILATION REEL PITS OBAMA

THE TOP 5 RESPONSES FROM DNC ATTENDEES WHEN ASKED: ‘HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BELONG TO THE GOVERNMENT?’

Revealing Politics conducted a simple survey of several DNC attendees, asking one question: “How does it feel to belong to the government?”

Here are the top 5 responses:

  • “It feels like one big happy family to belong to the government, because if we feel that way, we are more safer [sic], um, we should feel the government should be able to help us and be able to take care of us.”
  • “Who knows, I haven’t never had another feeling, so I can’t tell you how it feels not to belong to the government.”
  • “Regardless of where you live, you are going to be owned by someone at some point.”
  • “I believe that, but unfortunately the Republicans don’t.”
  • “Feels great, I support that.”

Best of the Rest:

  • “We all do belong to the government as U.S. citizens.”
  • “We are all part of our community, a national community as Americans.”
  • “It makes you feel united.”

REPORT DOCUMENTS FREEDOM OF RELIGION REPLACED BY FREEDOM OF 'WORSHIP'

A new report recently released by the Family Research Council and Liberty Institute confirms that anti-Christian hostility is rising across the nation’s public square, in schools and in government.
“America today would be unrecognizable to our founders. Our first freedom is facing a relentless onslaught from well-funded and aggressive groups and individuals who are using the courts, Congress, and the vast federal bureaucracy to suppress and limit religious freedom,” said a summary of the report from Tony Perkins, president of the FRC, and Kelly Shackelford, president of Liberty Institute.

In fact, “The Obama administration no longer even speaks of freedom of religion; now it is only ‘freedom of worship.’ This radical departure is one that threatens to make true religious liberty vulnerable, conditional, and limited.

The report documents cases, for example:

  • Of a federal judge who threatened “incarceration” for a high school valedictorian unless she censored references to Jesus in her graduation speech
  • A city prohibition to seniors who wanted to pray before meals
  • A judge’s opinion that prayers before a state legislative meeting could reference Allah, but not Jesus
  • A state attempt to regulate what religious seminaries could teach
  • The Obama administration argument before the Supreme Court that the federal government can tell churches which pastors it can hire or fire
  • A ban from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to references to Jesus in veterans’ funeral ceremonies
