While the necessary legislative and regulatory approval of these standards has been postponed, the possibility remains that implementation of these standards could take place in the 2013-14 school year.
The following bills have been introduced:
HB 1551 - Legislation to repeal the State Board of Education Pennsylvania Common Core Standards. (Rep. Tallman)
HB 1552 - Exempting private, religious and home-schools from Common Core Standards (Rep. Bloom)
HB 1553 - National Standardized Assessments and Surveys (Rep. Kauffman)
HB 1554 – Prohibition of individual student data transfer to the Federal Government (Rep. Lawrence)
HB 1555 – Advisory Committee to conduct a study of Common Core Standards prior to any implementation (Rep. Tallman)
Thank The Lawmakers Who Are Fighting Common Core in PA
From our friends at Freedom Works: "The education menace that is Common Core must be reined in. And thanks to State Representatives John Lawrence, Stephen Bloom, Rob Kauffman, and Will Tallman, Pennsylvania is one step closer to taking back control of our schools. The series of bills they introduced will protect Pennsylvanian children from the worse aspects of Common Core – including the prohibition of federal data gathering and exempting private schools from imposed standards."
Thank these Representatives for fighting to keep Common Core out of your schools. They are leading in the fight for educational freedom.
